Want to wish all it's members Hurling, Camogie, and Track members a Happy New Year...
As we near yet another year.....let's reflect on the year ....it was great to get out of covid and back to the playing field.
Where the adult team fielded alot of new faces from underage ....We put 2 teams into adult hurling . In the leagues and then later in the championship.
But our year was not to be successful. In the league found it tough . But in the Championship we were more successful in reaching a 1/4 Final only to be beaten by Kildalkey..Our second team in intermediate did good having came up from junior. Winning 3 games which was good at this level.
In underage levels we had teams competitive in grades U-13, U-15,Minor, ,U-21.
In these our U-13 were unlucky beaten in Semi Final in league And beaten in RS Awards Tournament in Final .. Credit to them and their mentors
At U-15 league campaign wasn't great, but alot learned on the way and then into the shield and Kilmessan reached the Semi Final and were beaten by the Saints ...
Credit again to the team and mentor's involved.
Our Minor team didn't have a great campaign, but made up for it in the championship.....and went on to win it against neighbors Kiltale/Drumree.....a great close game .
Next was our U-21 campaign, tough group and lost heavily in opener , but got campaign ack on track after few games .. but just wasn't enough to progress.
Away from pitch our development committee have been busi sorting main pitch and also have been working hard on the development of the new pitch... Having it in operation is great for training and underage games ect ..
Also throughout year their was many a fundraiser and you the local people supported so we thank you also .
Overall great to see so many back out playing.
We would like to thank all sponcers, mentors, players, and anyone involved with teams....and above all the supporters who followed us on the pitch and off it via social media......We thank you..
Also a taught for those who have lost family members within community and afar over the year.....May they rest in peace
Stay safe and see you all in new year.
